DeSoto COunty Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC)
So, what do we do?
EDAC responsibilities, include:
Review, research, analyze and recommend incentives to promote and maximize economic development in the County.
Advise the Board and County Administrator, regarding ways to promote economic development in the County.
Assist in educating the community regarding the County’s economic development programs and policies.
Review, analyze and provide a recommendation regarding proposed comprehensive economic development plans and strategies for consideration by the Board.
Suggest revision to existing ordinances, resolutions, and State and Federal laws to encourage economic development in the County.
Review proposed ordinances that may have an impact on economic development initiatives, as determined by the County Administrator and County Attorney, and to provide comment to the Board prior to Board consideration of such ordinances.
*EDAC recommendations do not impede the schedule of the Board of County Commissioners in holding public hearings for the purpose of considering and adopting County ordinances.
