Economic Development Summit planned in DeSoto

Open summit will focus on future business in DeSoto, Broadband and more. Vendor space is still available.

DeSoto County, FL—DeSoto County will host an economic development summit in January 2025 to give practical insights about opening and expanding business throughout the county.

Organized by the county’s Economic Development Department, summit topics will include the future of DeSoto, doing business in Desoto, the Planning and Zoning process, how biotech and AI (artificial intelligence) can support business, and the ongoing expansion of broadband in the county.

“Our office receives about one inquiry per week regarding opening a new business in our community,” DeSoto Economic Development Director Sondra Guffey said. “We will also provide updates about significant projects ahead here.”

The event is set for Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Turner Agri-Civic Center, 2250 NE Roan St., Arcadia, FL, 34266. This is free and open to the public and includes lunch. Registration is requested.
